Safe Haven Parenting Assessment Unit (SHPAU) aims to provide a safe, supportive, and stable home for parents and their babies where their parenting skills and capacity are assessed in a robust, fair, and evidence-based manner. Ethos and Model of Care
SHPAU is a residential family unit which provides a safe, supportive, secure environment for parents who the referring Authority assess to need additional support and assessment prior to re-integration into society. The unit provides accommodation for up to five parents from the age of 18 (the parent), and their children (up to the age of 5-year-old).
