Who we are

Safe Haven Parenting Assessment Unit is a three bed unit in Kent. We are a leading provider of parenting assessments, support programs, and holistic family interventions. We specialise in empowering families, safeguarding children, and providing stakeholders with clear, evidence-based assessments with recommendations.

Mission Statement

Safe Haven Parenting Assessment Unit aims to provide a safe, supportive, and stable home for parents and their babies where their parenting skills and capacity are assessed in a robust, fair, and evidence-based manner. Our parent and baby unit will provide a supportive, safe environment to foster improved parenting skills and ensure child welfare

Ethos & Model of Care

Safe Haven Parenting Assessment Unit is a residential family unit which provides a safe, supportive, secure environment for parents who the referring Authority assess to need additional support and assessment prior to re-integration into society. The unit provides accommodation for up to five parents from the age of 18 (the parent), and their children (up to the age of 5-year-old).

Assessment Framework

Our Assessment Framework is based on The Department of Health ‘Framework of Assessment of Needs of Children and Families and Assessment Guidance (2000).
